ABOUT Unity House

Unity House of Cayuga County, Inc. provides transitional and permanent housing, respite care, and rehabilitative and employment services for adults with mental health illnesses, developmental disabilities, and/or chemical dependencies from which they are recovering. A nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, Unity House partners with these individuals to develop their personal skills and potential, enabling them to live more full and independent lives. The agency serves more than 700 consumers a day in six central New York counties; individuals are accepted by referral only. Unity House is committed to freeing our communities of misconceptions associated with disabilities through innovation, education, and advocacy.

MRDD Services
Unity House provides those with mental retardation and/or developmental disabilities with residential, day habilitation, and service coordination services that motivate, support, and guide them in achieving personal growth, individual goals, and greater independence.
MENTAL HEALTH Services
Our services for individuals with mental health illnesses offer a variety of housing options and rehabilitation and support programs, including a stand-alone Intensive Psychiatric Rehabilitation Treatment program (IPRT) with a family consultation component.
EMPLOYMENT Services
Unity Employment Services turns “Help Wanted” into “Help Hired” by providing job-ready, qualified employment candidates pre-screened to match employers' specific job needs, as well as total employee and employer on-site job support.
ALCOHOL and CHEMICAL DEPENDENCY Services
G.R.A.C.E. House is dedicated to the recovery of individuals suffering from alcoholism and other chemical dependencies. Services include a community residence, individualized recovery plans supported by staff and peers, and a separate supported living program.
  PROFESSIONAL NURSING Services
Our nursing component provides superior around-the-clock nursing care, featuring face-to-face consumer site care visits and medical and dental consultations as needed. Unity House nurses care for our MRDD residential consumers in Cayuga and Tompkins counties.
